WA Nature Photographers' Group

This is  a friendly group of people interested in nature photography who meet every second month, starting in February, at the Admin Centre, off Fraser Avenue, Kings Park in Perth at 7.30pm and also organise monthly photography excursions on Sundays to places of interest like wetlands, bushland etc, in or within easy reach of  Perth.

There is no joining fee as it is not a club, but there is a $3 door fee at each meeting which usually hosts an interesting illustrated talk. The Group welcomes anyone with an interest in nature photography, and it is also affiliated with the Perth Naturalists' Society (membership is optional for NPG attendees).

All are welcome.

For more information, please call Wanda on 9271 8850  or  0419 942 417

APS and WAPF in WA

WA members of APS are welcome to join in any of the activities organised by WAPF (WA Photographic Federation). Please note that this does NOT include the Interclub Competitiion or the Canon Clickwest Competition as these are strictly for affiliated club members only.

The committee has agreed that APS members be able to participate in WAPF activities other than competitions, even if they are not a member of an affiliated camera club. They organise some great weekends of shooting in various parts of the State so to find out more, please go to www.wapf.org.au and check their Events page.

* One of our local members, Sue, is offering individual Photoshop and Lightroom tuition at very reasonable rates, so please contact Chris for details if you are interested

Members are welcome to join our APS in WA Facebook page, where they can post images and chat with other members. Just go to APSinWA and ask to join the group and follow the instructions on the page. It's a closed group, not open to the public.

 Chris

This year's APS honours were announced at APSCON in Bunbury and among the worthy recipients of the AAPS award was Ivor Metlitsky, a member of Fremantle Camera Club. As Ivor was unable to attend APSCON, Chris Hassell, State Representative for WA, presented him with his certificate and badge at a recent club meeting. There are now a few members of FCC with APS awards, and it would be great to see more WA members with honours. For more information, contact Chris or check the APS website. Ivor's award was achieved through the Exhibition system, but it is also possible to gain honours through the panel system, for members who may not be exhibiting.

Congratulations, Ivor!
