The APS-PSA Prints Exchange for 2016 has been finalized, and the APS member selected to represent Australia was Arthur Roy.
The Prints Exchange will take place again in 2017, and full details will be available on this site early in 2017.
This co-operative arrangement between the Australian Photographic Society (APS) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA) allows each Society to select one of its members to represent it with four prints. The eight selected prints are displayed at both APSCON, and the PSA Annual Conference (in Pittsburg in 2017).
To participate in this event, financial members of APS can upload four images to a website (details available later). The subject matter for these images is open and they may be colour or monochrome. There is no entry fee.
This is not a competition and selection does not attract points towards Honours (either for APS or PSA).
There is NO fee for entry this year.
SPONSORSHIP & PRIZES
Atkins Technicolour as again agreed to be a sponsor and make the needed eight prints (A3-sized) for exhibition in Australia at no cost to the selected photographers. The selected photographer will each be required to send files of their four images to Atkins Technicolour (and also to a US lab which will make exhibition quality prints for display in the USA).
MyPhotoClub has sponsored the competition this year, and has hosted the upload system for the images on their website.
Midnight (Sydney time) 17 July 2016 Entries close.
1 August 2016 Judging will be completed, and the member selected to represent APS will be notified.
DEFINITION OF A PHOTOGRAPH
A photograph is a visible image originating from the action of light or other forms of radiant energy upon a photosensitive medium or device.
For the purposes of selection we require JPEG files in the sRGB colour space with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a maximum file size of 2MB (keeping in mind that if your images are selected you will be asked to supply high-resolution files suitable for printing at A3 size).
The submitted images will be viewed anonymously and the sole selector, Emeritus Professor Des Crawley, will select one set of images to represent APS. A key selection criterion is that the panel of images should present a unified vision on a topic of the author's choice.
The personal details contained in your profile will be used as is. The organisers are unable to correct spelling mistakes or to change the case of letters.
