Photo Tour 1:  Full Flight Raptors

Full Flight Raptors Centre with Jay Collier from Canon Collective
Thursday 12th September: 10:30am - 1:30pm

Details:  Bus to Full Flight Raptors centre for unique and private 2hr session with birds of prey and Jay Collier from the Canon Collective. Images taken are strictly for non-commercial use, salons, own use and social media is ok. Disclaimer to be signed by each participant. these are special licensed working birds, used in advertising, film and bird control their exposure is closely managed.

Includes portrait session with Owls in the barn, tripod and flash are suggested. Canon Collective will have a range of Canon long lenses to use.

The session is set for a 11am start with a 10 min briefing before hand with tea and coffee supplied, bathroom on site. Session goes for about two hours with time for discussion and tea/coffee afterwards.

Price: $55.00   Limit: 15 people  Place: Return bus to Full Flight Raptors centre from the Mercure Hotel.

Photo Tour 2:  Ballarat Wildlife Park

Thursday 12th September: 10.30am - 12.30pm

Details: Self drive or car pool to Ballarat Wildlife Park. Tigers, Animals, ranging Roos, Devils and lots more to see, hands on tour with guide. Good photo opportunities for close up with the free-range animals - Tigers excepted.

Price: $24.00 - Adult, $20.50 - Concession   Limit: 20 people  Place: Self Drive/Car pool

Photo Tour 3:  Punks in the Alley

Walking Tour
Thursday 12th September: 12:00pm - 1:30pm

Details:  Bus to city location for photo shoot, continuing on with a city walk and the Biennale fringe exhibits.

 Price: $15.00   Limit: 20 people  Place: Return Bus departs from designated pick up points in Ballarat every two hours.

Details: Photo shoot in the gardens with costumed models.

Photo Tour 5: Dawn Sunrise Lake Burrumbeet

Friday 13th September: 5:45am - 8.00am

Details: Join Andrew on the Western Shores of this beautiful location and catch those magical first rays of sunshine. Andrew will direct and guide everyone to enable each participant to catch their winning image.

Price: $25.00   Limit: 12 people  Place: Meet at Lake Burrumbeet (self drive to meeting point)


Photo Tour 6:  Historic Ararat J Ward Gaol & Seppelts Winery

Lots of walking, steps and stairs
Friday 13th September: 9:00am - 5:30pm+

Details: Part 1: A visit to historic Ararat J Ward, Goal for the criminally insane, followed by lunch at the Great Western Pub. A rare visit to the historic Seppelts Winery, including a tour of the underground drives below the winery and vineyards. There wil be time to photograph in the gardens, as well as wine tasting at the end of the tour. Many of the underground drives have string lighting, ancient wine barrels, ect - a flash and tripod may be useful. 

Price: $55.00   Limit: 24 people  Place: Excursion by return bus to and from the Mercure Hotel.

Photo Tour 7:  Waterfalls of Ballarat District

Friday 13th September:  9:30am - 12.00pm

Details: Join Andrew Thomas on a rugged trek to some outstanding local Waterfalls around Ballarat. This outing is dependent on recent rainfall in the area and will be confirmed closer to the convention dates. Level of difficulty is high, sturdy walking shoes should be worn, and be prepared for some difficult terrain to travel through. Suitable only for the fit and adventurous. Carry your own tripod and camera gear.

Price: $25.00   Limit: 8 people  Place: Location to be advised, Self Drive

Photo Tour 8:  Kilderkin Distillery

Distillery Tour with Photo Shoot, Gin Tasting
Friday 13th September:  11:30am - 1:30pm

Details:  Kilderkin distillery tour, cellar door tastings of their fine gin with cheese platters to share and/or Red Duck Beer plus tour of the distillery with photo opportunities. Second rounds are at own cost.

Price: $50.00   Limit: 20 people  Place: Return bus to Kilderkin Distillery to and from the Mercure Hotel.


Photo Tour 9:  Drones in the Paddock

Friday 13th September:  3:30pm - 5.30pm

Details: An inspirational outing with Andrew Thomas as he displays and demonstrates drone photography and the amazing images that can be captured with this advancing technology. (Weather dependant)

Price: $25.00 (payable onsite @ registrations) Limit: 15 people   Place: Self drive to destination.


Photo Tour 10:  Old 1856 Ballarat Cemetery Tour

Old Ballarat Cemetary
Friday 13th September:  6:20pm - 9:00pm

Details:  Ballaarat Old Cemetery is a cemetery located in the rural city of Ballarat, Victoria in Australia. The cemetery dates back to 1856, although records show burials took place in the area from the late 1840s. Eureka Rebellion memorials to soldiers and miners are located in this cemetery.

Price: $25.00   Limit: 20 people   Place: Departure & meeting points TBA, transport to and from the Mercure Hotel.
