Honours & Distinctions
For Photographic achievement through the exhibition & panel systems.

APS waives a pre year’s membership requirement for APS Honours, specifically for those immediate past members of AIPP and members of PSNZ, RPS, UPI and GPU who join APS with a full paid membership and apply for APS Skills Honours under the existing framework/rules. Proof of membership will be a requirement.

LAPS Licentiate (LAPS/AV-LAPS) - This Honour is intended to allow the advanced club worker of reasonable proficiency to obtain recognition for their efforts. This Honour may be attained by the Exhibition or Panel system.
AAPS Associate (AAPS/AV-AAPS) - This Honour is intended as a goal, offering a substantial challenge to the accomplished photographer. The standards required are deliberately kept high but not so high as to preclude active Australian and overseas photographers from applying. This Honour may be attained by the Exhibition or Panel system.
FAPS Fellow (FAPS/AV-FAPS) - This Honour is intended as a higher goal than AAPS, offering a substantial challenge to very  accomplished photographers. The standards required are deliberately kept high but not so high as to preclude active Australian and overseas photographers from applying. This Honour may be attained by the Exhibition or Panel system.
MAPS Master (MAPS) - may be achieved by the Exhibition or the Panel system. This is for photographers who have gained FAPS. If applying by Panel the submission must be complete in itself, and coherent, illustrating a specific theme. The choice of ideas is entirely up to the author. The result needs to be that the folio stands on its own as an expression of the author’s creativity in transmission of emotion, moods, illusions, or any other message.
GMAPS Grand Master (GMAPS) may be achieved by the exhibition system. This is for photographers who have gained MAPS and are continuing to have success in international exhibitions in a wide range of cultures.
APSEM medal APS Exhibitor's Medal (APSEM) including APSEM Levels (Bronze, Silver & Gold) are Honours intended to provide a challenge for the very highest level of APS Exhibitor. These Honours are based on an outstanding record of exhibition achievement in at least 10 countries.
