Rodney has been a member and past president of Castlemaine Camera Club. Born in Warragul, attended a one room primary school followed by Warragul High School. Joined the navy after school and saw service in Malaya during the Indonesian Confrontation and in Vietnam.

 

After leaving the service he worked as journalist on small publication and began work in the dark-room and started working with the camera. After a stint with Consolidated Press as editor of a national magazine (in Sydney) he began a new life as a freelance photojournalist in Melbourne around 1980.

 

Rodney completed a diploma at the Photography Studies College in South Melbourne. In the mid nineties started working at The Image Box in Prahan when they moved to South Melbourne.

 

He had his first infrared camera converted in 2016 but hardly got started before his camera bag was stolen from the car on the way home from APSCON. He had his second IR camera converted a year later and ignitig a huge passion leading to taking enourmous amounts of photos.
