Which documents and application forms must I download, read and complete?

The following Honours can be applied for through the APS Exhibition system.
LICENTIATESHIP (LAPS)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- must be an APS Member, with a joining date prior to submitting the application for LAPS.
- have obtained 50 Acceptances that meet the following condition:
(i) there must be at least 5 Acceptances from APS approved National or International Exhibitions.
No awards are required.
ASSOCIATESHIP (AAPS)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- must be an APS Member, with a joining date prior to submitting the application for AAPS.
- have obtained 100 Acceptances (which can include Acceptances gained for LAPS) that meet the following conditions:
(i) at least 10 Acceptances from APS approved National or International Exhibitions, and
(ii) 5 different titles which have received at least one award (as defined above).
No more than 2 Awards are claimable from any one country other than Australia which is unlimited.
The applicant may start the journey at this level
FELLOWSHIP (FAPS)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for FAPS;
- have obtained 200 Acceptances in International exhibitions (which can include Acceptances gained for LAPS or AAPS in International Exhibitions) that meet the following conditions:
(i) at least 20 Acceptances from APS approved Australian International Exhibitions.
(ii) 10 different titles which have received at least one award (as defined above) from 5 different countries in International Exhibitions
The applicant may start the journey at this level
MASTER (MAPS)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for MAPS;
- hold FAPS.
- have obtained at least 300 new acceptances from International Exhibitions (with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, or FAPS, however, acceptances received prior to 1/1/2017 do not require new titles) that meet the following conditions:
(i) Minimum of 20 Acceptances to be gained from APS approved Australian International Exhibitions;
(ii) 15 different titles which have received at least one award (as defined above) from 7 different countries in International Exhibitions.
GRAND MASTER (GMAPS)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for GMAPS.
- hold MAPS.
- have obtained at least 300 new acceptances from International Exhibitions, with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, FAPS or MAPS, that meet the following conditions:
(i) Minimum of 20 Acceptances to be gained from APS approved Australian International Exhibitions;
(ii) 20 different titles which have received at least one award (as defined above) from 9 different countries in International Exhibitions.
APS EXHIBITORS MEDAL (APSEM)
Requirements - The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for APSEM.
- hold GMAPS.
- have obtained at least 600 acceptances from International Exhibitions (with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, FAPS, MAPS or GMAPS) that meet the following conditions:
(i) at least 100 different titles.
(ii) at least 40 acceptances from APS approved Australian International exhibitions approved by APS.
(iii) at least 30 different titles which have won an award. These awards must have been gained from at least 10 different countries.
APSEM Levels
APSEM/bronze
The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for APSEM/bronze
- hold APSEM.
- have obtained at least 100 acceptances from International Exhibitions (with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, FAPS, MAPS, GMAPS or APSEM) that meet the following conditions:
- at least 100 different titles
- at least 60 acceptances from Australian International exhibitions approved by APS.
- at least 40 different titles, which have won an award. These awards must have been gained from at least 10 different countries.
APSEM/silver
The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for APSEM/silver
- hold APSEM/bronze.
- have obtained at least 100 acceptances from International Exhibitions (with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, FAPS, MAPS, GMAPS, APSEM or APSEM/bronze) that meet the following conditions:
- at least 100 different titles
- at least 60 acceptances from Australian International exhibitions approved by APS.
- at least 50 different titles, which have won an award. These awards must have been gained from at least 10 different countries.
APSEM/gold
The applicant must:
- have been an APS Member for at least one year immediately prior to applying for APSEM/gold
- hold APSEM/silver.
- have obtained at least 100 acceptances from International Exhibitions (with titles that have not previously been used for LAPS, AAPS, FAPS, MAPS, GMAPS, APSEM, APSEM/bronze or APSEM/silver) that meet the following conditions:
- at least 100 different titles
- at least 60 acceptances from Australian International exhibitions approved by APS.
- at least 60 different titles, which have won an award. These awards must have been gained from at least 10 different countries.
Judging Credits - apply from 1st Jan 2020
- 2 judging credits can be earned, per section that a member judges.
- National judging credits can only be used in LAPS & AAPS applications.
- International judging credits can be used at any honours level.
- Maximum of 5% of the acceptance requirement of an honours application can be judging credits.
- Judging credits can only be used once so where an applicant has claimed judging credits then a Retired Judging credits list (AED6) be supplied with each future honours application. Unused judging credits can be used in subsequent honours applications.
- Judging Credits cannot be used to replace the requirement of Australian acceptances in the various Honours levels.
- The member must supply a copy of the relevant page in the catalogue, or other evidence, that shows which sections were judged.

The following Honours can be applied for through the APS Panel system.
APS Panel System
The following can be applied for through the APS Panel System.
All submissions via the Panel System must be projected images. Audio-Visual presentations are also accepted.
LAPS – Licentiate of APS
Submit 12 Images via WeTransfer/Dropbox, 10 of which should be of National Standard.
Pre-requisites - Must be a member of APS with a joining date prior to the closing date for applications (31 March).
AAPS – Associate of APS
Submit 25 via WeTransfer/Dropbox, of which 20 should be of National Standard.
Pre-requisites - Must be a member of APS with a joining date prior to the closing date for applications (31 March).
FAPS – Fellow of APS
Submit 45 via WeTransfer/Dropbox, of which 40 should be of International Standard.
Pre-requisite – Must be a current member of APS and held AAPS at the closing date of applications.
MAPS – Master of APS
MAPS Honours can also be applied for via submission of one panel of 20 images.
re-requisites - Must hold FAPS and be a current member of APS at the closing date for applications.
AV HONOURS
AV-LAPS – Licentiate of APS
REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must:
- must be an APS Member, with a joining date prior to the closing date for applications.
- submit three separate audiovisuals with a total running time of more than 12 and less than 30 minutes.
The quality of the sound tape must be adequate and the applicant must show an understanding of the importance of the dissolve technique, namely that the blending of one slide with another requires careful thought and colour selection. Any subject matter is acceptable but it is not sufficient to show a series of unrelated slides with a pleasant musical background. Each audiovisual must consist of a clear beginning, middle section and conclusion.
AV-AAPS – Associate of APS
REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must:
- must be an APS Member, with a joining date prior to the closing date for applications.
- submit four separate audiovisuals with a total running time of more than 16 and less than 40 minutes.
- One audiovisual must be of award standard.
The applicant must show a high degree of competence in the preparation and presentation of combined sound and visual programmes. Evidence must be provided of the ability to unite recorded sound with sequences of linked visual images to provide a programme for educational, artistic, entertainment or commercial purposes.
The assessment will be made on the basis of the photographic quality of the visual material, the continuity and aptness of the sound accompaniment, and the quality of the sound reproduction.
AV-FAPS – Fellow of APS
REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must:
- have been a financial member of APS continuously for a period of at least the one year immediately prior to the closing date for applications.
- submit eight separate audiovisuals with a total running time of more than 32 and less than 80 minutes.
- Three audiovisuals are to be of award standard.
The applicant must show a distinguished ability or outstanding original work in the preparation and presentation of combined sound and visual programmes produced for educational, artistic, entertainment or commercial purposes. Assessment will be made on the basis of the overall quality of each audiovisual and its ability to convey the story, message or theme in a relevant and artistic manner.
